In Nancy Drew: The Secret of Shadow Ranch, Nancy needs a rope of her own. To earn a rope, Tex said you must lasso the fake cattle 4 out of 5 times, and barrel race under 10 seconds.

To rope the cattle, pick up the lariat on the wooden cattle, and swing the rope until it forms a perfect circle. Click to throw with perfect aim. Have patience and keep trying – every time clicking once the lariat makes a perfect circle.

To barrel race, aim your cursor to turn right or left (whichever the direction of the barrel is, and click as soon as you reach it. Be careful not to turn too sharply or you’ll add time to your score. Check out the video for reference. If Tex gives you a time of less than ten seconds, you may return to him in the tack room and receive your own lariat.
