How to find the Gold Armor in Mega Man X3 - Retrogaming Easter Eggs #shorts
17,207Here's how to get the Gold Armor in Mega Man X3. Some people call it the Golden Armor or the Gold Chip Enhancement. This is what they're talking about.
First collect every other item in the game, EXCEPT for any of the Chip Enhancements that you can find in pink upgrade capsules (or are they red? I'm colorblind). I'm not sure if you need any of the Ride Armor items, but I found them anyway.
So once you have all the necessary upgrades and have beaten all eight robot masters, go to Doppler Fortress Stage 1. This level has probably the greatest soundtrack of any game ever.
Try to keep your health full as you head through this stage because you'll need maximum life in order for the Gold Armor capsule to appear. Make your way through the stage like normal. I suggest using the Spinning Blade weapon from Crush Crawfish as it handles most of the enemies quite easily.
Defeat the "junk robot" miniboss and proceed until you reach a deep pitfall that appears just before a falling spikeball trap thing.
Drop down that pitfall and hug the left wall. You should enter a secret hidden area with the final pink upgrade capsule. Dr. Light will have a message for you. Step inside the capsule, and Mega Man X will turn all gold and shiny. Now you have the Gold Armor!
This Gold Armor gives you all four Chip Enhancements at once. So, while standing still, your life will replenish (and this can even fill your Sub Tanks). You will be able to midair dash TWICE in one jump. Your armor will be much better (not entirely sure how much better, but you can tank a lot of hits now). And you can store X-Buster charges, which is probably the least helpful of the upgrades...
But! Now you're pretty unstoppable, and dashing around with all this mobility is super fun.
Note that there is no password for the Gold Armor in Mega Man X3, because the password does NOT save this enhancement.
