For the first time I received this mysterious error 7002.1 and was able to fix it after doing some digging. My issue turned out to be as simple as updating my HD Audio drivers, but I've also included other fixes I found when researching the issue.

My understanding is that this is a Rockstar Launcher-wide issue so the same fixes should work for other Rockstar games, such as Red Dead Redemption 2.
