The Nvidia game filter allows you to adjust how your game looks. The game filter can be used to improve visibility in multiplayer games, and add more color. Not all games are supported by the game filter feature. Most big named games are supported however, allowing you to customize each game to your liking.

Occasionally you may run into the error saying that a supported game is required to use the game filter. There are several solutions that can fix this issue. If you’re playing a newer game then the solution may be to install the newest Nvidida drivers. New major titles are often paired with a driver update, to add all the cool and extra features. The drivers also help optimize your graphics card to perform better when running the game.

Another common cause for the supported game required error is OBS. Both Streamlabs OBS and the standard OBS can prevent the game filter from working if they’re open. Closing the game and any OBS processes can solve the issue. When you relaunch the game the game filter should now be usable. After setting up your filter, you can then reopen OBS.

Nvidia also has experimental features which can fix the issue. You can enable experimental features in the GeForce Experience app settings.

The final possible solution is to either reinstall your current driver, or install an older driver. The driver will need to be recent to ensure you get the best performance for your chosen game. It is important to also pick a graphic driver that was released after the game you’re having supported issues with.
