How to Fix PS5 Error NW-102314-1 & DNS Problems (Easy Tutorial)
Error code NW-102314-1 on the PS5 is associated with network connectivity issues. This error code typically indicates that the PS5 console is having trouble connecting to the PlayStation Network (PSN) or maintaining a stable connection.
Go to Settings:
Turn on your PS5 and navigate to the main dashboard. Scroll to the right and select the "Settings" icon (it looks like a gear).
Access Network Settings:
Inside the Settings menu, select "Network."
Set Up Internet Connection:
Choose "Connection Status" or "Set Up Internet Connection," depending on the options available. If you're already connected to the internet, you might see "Connection Status."
Select Your Connection:
Choose the type of connection you're using, either Wi-Fi or LAN cable (wired connection). If you're already connected, you'll see your current connection listed. Select it.
Custom Setup:
On the next screen, choose "Custom" for the connection method. This allows you to customize your network settings.
IP Address Settings:
Choose "Automatic" for IP Address Settings. This ensures that your PS5 obtains an IP address automatically from your router.
DHCP Host Name:
Choose "Do Not Specify" for the DHCP Host Name.
DNS Settings:
Here's where you'll change your DNS settings. Choose "Manual" for DNS Settings.
Enter Primary and Secondary DNS:
Enter the primary and secondary DNS server addresses you want to use. You can use public DNS servers like Google DNS (8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.4.4 for secondary) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 for primary and 1.0.0.1 for secondary). These are popular choices that are often more stable than default DNS servers.
MTU Settings:
Choose "Automatic" for MTU Settings.
Proxy Server:
If you're not using a proxy server, choose "Do Not Use."
Test Connection:
After entering your DNS settings, select "Test Connection" to check if your PS5 can successfully connect to the internet with the new DNS settings.
Save Settings:
If the test is successful, you'll be prompted to save your settings. Choose "Save."
Restart Your PS5:
It's a good idea to restart your PS5 after changing the DNS settings to ensure that the changes take effect.
