How to fix the Steam Deck keyboard not working?
You cannot just tap on any entry point and expect the keyboard to appear. You need to press the Steam + X buttons for the virtual keyboard to show. Once you are done typing, you can press the Steam + X buttons again to remove the keyboard.
If pressing the Steam + X button is not getting you anywhere, the problem could be with your internet connection. That's because the keyboard does not work in Desktop Mode if Steam is not running. Being offline will mean that the keyboard won't work.
