How to fix YouTube's "Processing of the video failed" error when uploading videos

This video will show you how, through using open source freeware software called VLC Media Player, how you can convert, compress, encode, and save your videos to .webm format, which is (for the most part) universally accepted by YouTube and solves the problem of receiving these two error messages when uploading video file formats that USED to be universally accepted by YouTube but that are now no longer accepted. The two error messages in question are as follows:
Processing of the video failed. Please make sure you are uploading a supported file type.
Failed (unable to convert video file)
In addition, if you use the classic original YouTube video uploader, the error appears as follows: once upload of the video is complete, video preview windows are shown, scrolled, and upon reaching 99% processing, progression comes to a stop and everything halts in a processing hang.
