The gimmick of Kirby Super Star's "Milky Way Wishes" subgame is that enemies do not grant you abilities through normal means, instead you permanently unlock abilities by finding them throughout the levels. There is an exception to this rule, however. The sleep enemy does indeed grant you the sleep ability. And while this ability is pointless, there just so happen to be two sleep enemies right next to each other at the beginning of Hotbeat! That means you can mix! Meaning you can (temporarily) get any ability you'd like right at the very beginning of the subgame.
