The Frame-Perfect Trick Holding back SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated Speedrunners
The speedruns of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated aren't as optimal as they could be, and a good amount of this is attributed to a frame perfect trick used around 20 times in the run that we refer to as "PSAS," or a "Pause Spatula Animation Skip." If you pause the game on the frame you grab a spatula, you can then warp anywhere without having to watch the spatula animation. This is a frame-perfect trick in a game that we play at 60 FPS, so needless to say, it's highly unlikely that you'll hit every single one during a speedrun. Each failed attempt at this trick costs 5 seconds, which unfortunately for us adds up very quickly. But hey, at the very least it's not ball room skip!
