How to get out of Ancient Basin in Hollow Knight [using Dash and Wall Jump only]

If you dropped here accidentally, you may avoid sitting on a bench. This will allow you to Quit to Menu, so that you can instantly return to the last bench you sat on. If you already sat on a bench in Ancient Basin, you will have to do what I showed on the video:
Basically you need to go back to the broken elevator shaft where you dropped down here in the first place. The way up the shaft may seem impossible and intimidating at first (look at all those scary spikes, yikes!) but there is no problem that can't be overcome by the right approach 🙂
In this video guide I'm using Mothwing Cloak [Dash] and Mantis Claw [Wall Jump] only. You don't need any more abilities to escape the horrifying Ancient Basin. Have fun exploring the game!

The first part where the spikes are forming a horizontal "tunnel" through which you have to jump "across" can be really tricky.
But at the same time it's a nice developer game design decision. It draws the player's attention to this specific tunnel. The player then realizes that it actually is some kind of a travelling path to discover, and then thinks about what kind of ability player has to acquire to be able to get through there. And if the player already has this ability then thinks "oh, this is some new path, I wonder how to get there".
Hollow Knight is full of such indirect environmental player guides.
