use plastic bottles of 2 liters, mark and cut their bottoms
cut a piece of canvas with a hole in it, max. dimensions: 8x8 cm

insert the roots in the plastic bottles
add some quality soil in the plastic bottles, about 2/3 of the bottle height
water gently to settle the soil around the roots
excess water will flow out of the bottle
drill some holes in the bottom of the bottle and tie a thread through them
