How To Use Telegram Without Sharing Phone Number:
Step 1: Launch the Telegram app on your phone. Tap on the three-line menu (☰) in the top-left corner (Android) and then select "Settings" or tap on "Settings" at the bottom-right (iOS).
Step 2: Inside the Settings page, scroll through and find "Privacy and Security". Tap on it.
Step 3: Under Privacy and Security, tap on "Phone Number", found in the 'Privacy' category. By default, it is set to "My Contacts".
In the 'Who Can See My Phone Number' category, you’ll see three options:
Everybody: Your number is visible to everyone.
My Contacts: Only people in your contacts can see your number.
Nobody: No one can see your number.
Step 4: Select "Nobody" to hide your phone number completely. Once you select this, the 'Who Can Find Me by My Number' option will appear.
Even if you hide your number, people who have your contact saved might still be able to find you on Telegram. You can prevent this by controlling who can find you by phone number.
Step 5: Change it to "My Contacts" for additional privacy, if it was set to "Everybody". This will ensure only your contacts can be able to find you by phone number.
Step 6: Once you have selected your preferred settings, simply tap on the check mark in the top-right corner to save your changes.
