Hey Everyone,

This Episode, I am going to install an Alloy Overflow tanks to my XC Ford Falcon Panel Van and give you 5 simple steps on how I did it.

I got this compact Black Alloy Overflow Tank off eBay for $40 which is great valued and because its already painted, less work for me to match the styling I want in the engine bay. I just have to mount it into position and connect the hoses into place. So let's do it step by step.

Step 1 - Disconnect the Old Overflow Tank. This could be the original overflow tank for the vehicle, but mine was an alloy chrome one. Make sure you undo the connecting hoses.

Step 2 - Locate and mark the position you want it. Make sure that you can access the tank for fluids and you get the lid off with easy. Bring a marker, place the tank into position and mark the holes that you will need to drill. Also, make sure the tank is level.

Step 3 - Drill holes for Tank. When drilling the hole be careful of hitting other components of the vehicle. Also check what is on the other side.

Step 4 - Mount Tank & Connect Hoses. To mount the tank use bolts that are the correct size and length. If you to long a bolt it could affect other parts of the vehicle. Where I place it, it could hit the tire if it was too long. Connect the hose to the Radiator overflow then the Overflow tank, then hose from the overflow to a location that will run free from the engine bay area.

Step 5 - Add Fluids and Check Leaks. Add radiator coolant into the Overflow Tank and check for leaks, just in case you have not done the hose clamps tight enough.

So, as you can see in the video I removed the old overflow tank because it was not going to match the theme I wanted for the engine bay. We then install the new overflow tank and mounted into the position I wanted, plus connected all the hoses.

FUTURE WORK

I am going to remove the standard XC Falcon Window Washer Bottle and replace it with a Black Alloy Window Washer Bottle to match the Alloy Overflow Tank.

We are going to use the galvanized metal template that we made for the gap between the radiator and the grill with a 3mm thick alloy metal plate using the one we created. It will be painted black and it will clean up the engine bay as well.

All these little things are getting me ready for when I have the funds to paint the XC Panel Van and finish it off as the Aussie Garage Promo Van for our channel.
