How to Keep your Games Automatically Updated on Nintendo Switch (Fast Tutorial)
Keeping your Nintendo Switch games automatically updated is essential for enjoying the latest features, bug fixes, and content. Here’s how you can set up automatic updates:
Firmware Updates:
Your Nintendo Switch firmware (system software) should update automatically as long as your console is online and charged.
To check if your system is up to date and get the latest version:
From the Home screen, select System Settings.
Scroll down and choose System from the menu on the left.
Select System Update. If your system is up to date, you’ll receive a message; otherwise, an update will begin. Remember to save your game progress before updating.
Game Software Updates:
Game software also defaults to automatic updates.
To verify if this feature is enabled and adjust your settings:
Go to System Settings from the Home screen.
Scroll down and select System from the menu on the left.
Look for Auto-Update Software on the right. This option indicates whether automatic updates are on or off.
If you prefer more control or if something went wrong with automatic downloads, you can manually update your game software. Here’s how:
Press the plus (+) or minus (-) button on the game icon.
Choose Software Update via the Internet to manually update the game
