How to Free Up Storage Space on Nintendo Switch (Delete Games)
Archive Games: Archiving a game removes the game data (which takes up most of the space) but keeps your game saves intact. To archive a game:
From the home screen, select the game you want to archive.
Press either the + or - buttons on your controller.
Choose Manage Software and then Archive Software. This way, if you ever want to play the game again, you won’t lose your progress.
Delete Games: Deleting a game removes both the game data and your game saves. Only do this if you’re sure you won’t play the game again. To delete a game:
Follow the same steps as archiving, but choose Delete Software instead1.
Check Space Usage:
Go to Settings from the home screen.
Scroll down to Data Management and select Manage Software.
Here, you’ll see a list of your games sorted by how much space they occupy.
Select a game to either archive or delete it.
Use an SD Card: If you have an SD card installed, the Switch will automatically store downloaded games and screenshots on it. Consider getting a larger microSD card (256GB or more) for additional storage
