How to Change your Location & Region on Nintendo Switch (Fast Tutorial)
2To change the region on your Nintendo Switch, follow these steps:
From the Home screen, select System Settings.
Highlight the options for System, and select Region.
Choose your desired region from the list, which includes options like Japan, The Americas, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, or Hong Kong/Taiwan/South Korea.
Your Switch will then inform you that changing the region binds you to the End-User License Agreement (EULA), and your Switch will need to restart. To continue, select Next.
Keep in mind that while the Switch isn’t region-locked, there are still some differences that might make temporarily changing regions more appealing. For example:
A game may be released in Japan before it’s released in the US.
You might find a game for a cheaper price in another region’s eShop.
Some games might never see a release in your region.
If you buy cartridges from another region, you’ll need to change your console’s region to play them as well. Once your console has restarted, you can use any cartridges from the region you chose. For instance, if you bought a copy of Breath of the Wild in Japan, you can play it on your console after changing your region to Japan.
Additionally, if you want to shop from another region’s eShop, you can create a second account and user profile and set the location for that account to match the desired region. The Switch will prompt you to select the user you’re playing as every time you open a game or the eShop, so you can always pick the user that matches the region you bought a game for every time
