How To Leave YouTube Family Premium Group - Easy Solution | HTG
Leaving a YouTube Premium family group is a simple process, and it's useful if you no longer want to be part of a shared subscription or if you're switching to an individual plan. This action can be done directly through your YouTube account settings in a few steps. To begin, open your web browser and go to [](). Make sure you're logged into the Google account that is currently part of the YouTube Premium family plan.
Next, click your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen, and from the dropdown menu, select “Purchases and memberships.” This section shows all active subscriptions tied to your account, including YouTube Premium. Look for your current family membership listing and click the "Manage membership" button next to it.
Under the management options, locate the “Learn more” link related to the family plan details. This will take you to a page where you can view the terms and participants of the plan. If you are a family group member (not the family manager), you’ll see an option to “Leave family group” or a “Leave” button. Click it, and confirm your decision when prompted. Once completed, your access to YouTube Premium under that family plan will be removed.
After leaving, you can still access YouTube with a free account or subscribe to your own individual Premium plan. Note that leaving a family group may affect access to other shared Google services tied to the family setup, such as Google Play Family Library.
