How to run Apple 2 floppy disk games in MAME ?
The easiest way is to use Apple IIe driver
Most games should load automatically
If you want to speed up loading...
... hit the "Scroll Lock" key to enable MAME's keyboard shortcuts ...
... then, keep pushing "Page Down" key
If you need to change floppies...
... make sure MAME's keyboard shortcuts are enabled ("Scroll Lock" key)
... then, hit the "Tab" key to display MAME's user interface
In the "File manager" menu, you can manage your floppies.
Hit the "Tab" key again to close the menu
Here, the game is waiting for the "Esc" key to continue ...
... Make sure MAME's keyboard shortcuts are DISABLED ("Scroll Lock" key)...
... before pressing "Esc" key ...
... or you will close MAME instead of continuing your journey !
