Steps:
I will show you a great way of securing your apps with a pin code.
This method involves downloading an app, so open up the play store.
In the play store search for app lock.
Tap on the one thats called ‘app-lock finger print’ by sp soft.
Tap install to install the app.
Once its installed open it up.
You now need to create your master pin, which will be the pin used for unlocking apps.
Tap the check when you have chosen your pin, then enter your pin again to confirm it and tap the check again.
If you have a fingerprint registered on your phone you will get the option here to unlock apps with a fingerprint.
You now need to add the app or apps that you would like to be pin-protected.
To do this tap the plus in the bottom right corner.
Now find the app or apps that you would like to add a pin to and switch the toggle on to the right of it.
Then tap the plus icon in the bottom right again.
You will now have to allow the app some permissions.
Switch the toggles on to allow app lock access and then tap ‘allow’ on the popup.
Tap the plus to add more apps and turn the toggle on to the right of the app and then tap the plus again.
Here is a list of the apps that you have locked, you can tap the notification lock icon to lock notifications for that app, by doing this any notifications from that app will be blocked and not reveal any information.
You will have to allow permissions to use this feature, tap ok, then tap ok again and then switch the toggle on to the right of ‘applock’ to allow the permissions.
Tap allow on the popup.
If you tap ‘fake’ to the right of the app you can turn on a fake error window instead of the password screen, this way anyone using your phone will think the app is crashing rather than locked.
When you are wanting to use the app yourself you can simply hold down on ok and the password screen will appear.
Tap on Settings at the top of the screen, here there are lots of different options to play around with for the app.
A setting that I would recommend switching on is the observer setting.
This is a really cool setting that will automatically take a photo or video if the password for your locked app is entered incorrectly.
This way you can catch whoever is snooping red-handed!
To enable this feature tap on ‘observer’ and then switch the toggle on to the right of ‘observer’ and tap ‘while using the app’ on the popup.
Now tap on the settings cog.
In the settings tap on the first item on the list, ‘observation time’, and change it to 1.
Switch the toggle on to the right of ‘taking pictures’ or ‘recording video’ depending on whether you want a picture or video of the person who has got your app password wrong when trying to break in.
Allow the permissions if it prompts you to.
You can enable a warning message and warning alarm here if you like by switching the toggles on.
If I try to open a locked app you can see that a message comes up saying that the app has crashed because I enabled the ‘fake’ option.
The message about holding down ok will only come up the first time you tap on a locked app.
Hold down on ok to open up the password screen, then enter your password or fingerprint if you have one enabled.
If you just tap ok instead of holding it down then the app will close as if it has crashed.
If you didn’t enable the fake option then the password screen will show up as soon as you try to open a locked app.
You also cant get to a locked app from the recent apps page.
When you open the app lock app you will have to put in your password or fingerprint.
To see if anyone has been trying to access your locked apps you can go to the settings tab of the app and then tap on ‘observer’.
There will be a log of incorrectly entered passwords or fingerprints with photos or videos depending on your settings.
It will show the app they tried to access, the time that they attempted to gain access, and also the number of times they tried to enter the password, along with a photo or video of their face.
If you want to remove a password from an app, simply open the app lock app and then tap on the app that you want to remove the password for, then tap ‘ok’ on the popup.
