How to Lock Your PNC Debit Card
Locking your PNC debit card is a smart step if you’ve temporarily misplaced your card, suspect suspicious activity, or simply want to prevent unauthorized use. The process can be completed quickly through the PNC Mobile Banking app, ensuring your funds stay protected while you sort out the issue.
Start by opening the PNC Mobile Banking app on your smartphone. If you haven’t already, download it from the App Store or Google Play. Once launched, log in using your User ID and password. Tap 'Sign In' to access your account. If you've forgotten your login credentials, select the 'Forgot Password' or 'Forgot User ID' link to recover your account.
After logging in, navigate to the ‘Cards’ section within the app. This section lists all your linked debit and credit cards. Tap on the debit card you want to manage. On the card detail screen, look for the option to ‘Lock Card’ or a lock icon. Tap it to begin the card-locking process.
You’ll be asked to confirm your action by agreeing to the terms and conditions. Once you confirm, the card will be locked immediately. While the card is locked, it cannot be used for purchases, ATM withdrawals, or online transactions, though recurring payments may still go through depending on merchant settings.
If you later find your card and want to restore access, return to the same section in the app and tap ‘Unlock Card.’ If you’re unable to lock your card through the app due to technical issues or login problems, go to the Help Center in the app or visit [https://www.pnc.com/](https://www.pnc.com/) to find the customer service contact. PNC support can help you lock your card over the phone.
