About this video: This is our complete guide on how to make a Minecraft server in 1.19. The goal is that when you finish this tutorial you will know exactly how to create a Minecraft 1.19 server, and you will be able to play Minecraft 1.19 with your friends on that server. That means that this really does cover every aspect of how to setup a Minecraft server, let’s jump right on into it!
First off, I do want to mention that if you are going to create a Minecraft 1.19 server and you have a low-end PC, want to make the server public, or just don’t want to have to worry about port forwarding, Apex Minecraft Hosting in the description above is a super easy way to start a Minecraft 1.19 server. It takes less than 5 minutes and you will be playing Minecraft with your friends!
If you do want to make a Minecraft server on your computer though, the first step is downloading the Minecraft server. Go to the ‘Server Download’ link in the description above. This will take you to the Minecraft server file download. On this page, scroll down and click the ‘Download Minecraft’ button. Then, click the ‘minecraft_server.1.19.jar’ link on the next page. When you do, the Minecraft 1.19 server file will download. You will need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
After you have the Minecraft 1.19 server file downloaded, create a new folder on your desktop called ‘Minecraft 1.19 Server’. Open this folder and move the file you downloaded into it. Finally, double-click on the file you downloaded. Some files should appear. If they don’t, you need to download Java and run the Jarfix. Both are linked above.
You should now have an eula.txt file though. Open this up, and change ‘EULA=false’ to ‘EULA=true’. Save this file, and double click on the server.jar file you downloaded again. Your Minecraft 1.19 server will now start up. At this point, you do know how to make a Minecraft 1.19. You can join your server by opening up Minecraft on the computer you are hosting your server on and using ‘localhost’ as the IP.
However, what if you want to play Minecraft with your friends? Well, in this case, you will need to port forward. We go over this more in-depth in the video, but for a 1.19 Minecraft server, you need to forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocol.
Once you do that, your friends will be able to play your Minecraft 1.19 server by joining via your public IP address. You can find how to get that linked in the description above.
At this point though, you have now successfully learned how to create a Minecraft server in 1.19. If you have any questions about how to start a Minecraft server in 1.19, let us know in the comments.
