Step 1. Open the Alexa app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Step 2. Tap "More" at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Tap "Settings."
Step 4. Navigate to the Alexa Preferences section, and then tap "Voice Responses" in that section.
Step 5. Toggle on "Brief Mode." Going forward, Alexa will give brief responses may even play a short sound instead of giving a voice response.
