An advanced price rule is a business rule used to define dynamic pricing based on various conditions. It's more sophisticated than a basic rule that simply sets a fixed price.
Benefits of Advanced Price Rules:

Increased sales through targeted promotions and discounts.
Improved profit margins by automatically adjusting prices based on costs or competitor pricing.
Enhanced customer experience by offering personalized pricing.

Odoo provides different pricing rule
1. Fixed-price
Once you choose "Fixed Price," a field is labeled "Fixed Price". Enter the specific price you want to apply for the product covered by this rule.

Use Cases for Fixed Pricing Rules:

Standardized Pricing: If you have a product with a consistent price across all customers or situations, a fixed pricing rule is ideal.
Promotional Pricing: You can create temporary pricelists with fixed prices for specific promotions or sales.
Special Products: For unique products with set prices, you can define fixed pricing rules instead of managing individual product prices.

2. Discounts
Discounts are a common action used in advanced pricing rules. These rules allow you to define more sophisticated discounts than a simple fixed price reduction. Here's how discounts work in advanced pricing rules:

Conditions: Similar to any advanced pricing rule, you set conditions that need to be met for the discount to apply. These conditions can involve factors like:
Quantity: Discounts can be triggered based on the quantity purchased (e.g., buy 2 get 10% off the third item).
Customer Segment: You can offer different discounts to different customer groups (e.g., wholesale vs. retail customers).
Product Category: Discounts can be applied to specific product categories or even individual products.
Percentage Discounts: A classic discount type, offering a reduction as a percentage of the original price (e.g., 15% off).

3. Formula
Pricelists based on formulas are a powerful feature in Odoo's advanced pricing rules. They allow you to dynamically calculate product prices based on various factors using formulas. Odoo provides different price lists based on the formula

1. based on sales price:
the standard price of the product/actual price: 295
discount:10%
extra fee:5
margin: 50 to 100
to calculate new sales price, consider two variables, x1 and x2
lower margin = 50
x1 = lower margin + standard price
x1 = 50 +295 = 345
now, x2 = higher margin + standard price
x2= 100+295 =395
In conclusion, the new sale price must be between $345 and $395
compare x1 and x2 with the new price list
new price = standard price - discount (applied on sales price) + surcharge
                    =295-(295*10%)+5
                    =270.5

270.5 -- x1 and x2
So, Odoo, consider x1 as the new sales price

2. Based on cost
cost of acoustic block screen: 287
extra fee: 30
margin: 5 to 20

consider x1 and x2

x1 = lower margin + cost of product
5+287 = 292
x2= higher margin + cost of product
20+287 = 307
so the sale price must be a minimum of $337 and a maximum of $437

new price = cost of product + extra charge
287+30= 317

new price -- x1 and x2
so Odoo will automatically consider x2 as the unit price of the product

3. Based on other price lists

consider two price list
1. other pricelist

apply a 10% discount on all products

2. discount pricelist

based on other price lists

discount:10%

the standard price of the product:295

margin 0 to 30

discount applied (10%) 295*10% =29.5
 ie 295-29.5 =265.50

x1 = lower margin + discounted sales price
0+265.5 = 265.5

x2  = higher margin + discounted sales price
30 + 265.5 = 395.5
new price =discounted sales price + extra fee

 265.5 +5=270.5
 x1 -- 270.5 -- x2
So Odoo will consider the new price as the unit price of the product
