This is an unexciting crafting method. You have been warned. However, it's the best one.
The Trialmaster spawn mechanics were confirmed by GGG today on Reddit (link below).
In short - when you enter the map, there's a 1% chance in tiers 11-13 and 2% in 14-16 that the Trialmaster is willing to fight you. You won't find out until beating wave 9.
Map mods make it less likely that you'll succeed.
So our crafting method is... scour and go on tier 14s.

But sadly, it IS optimal. You are less likely to encounter danger in the maps that makes you tap out of a trial. Less likely to fail a Trialmaster encounter if you get one.
And especially important, you will be able to complete the Stone Circle ultimatums, you won't be pressured to skip them.
