Xbox Allows you to move your Xbox Profile to any USB or external storage device so it can be used on any Xbox Console. This is useful when you are at your friends house and want to play game along with him and want to keep the scores and achievements in one place.

Though downloading the profile when connected to internet, using the recover gamertag option, is useful but then you leave your profile on your freinds computer which not many of us will like.
