You can mute or completely turn off the built-in microphone on your PS5 controller using the steps below:

To Mute the PS5 Controller Mic
Use the Mute Button

Press the Mute Button below the PS button on your DualSense controller.
When muted:

The button will light up orange, indicating the mic is off.
Mute Through Settings

Press the PS Button to open the Control Center.
Navigate to the Sound (speaker icon) option.

Go to the Microphone tab and select Mute Microphone.
To Turn Off the PS5 Controller Mic
Disable the Mic via Settings

Go to Settings on the PS5 Home Screen.
Select Sound - Microphone.

Under Microphone Status When Logged In, choose Mute.
This will turn off the mic by default every time you log in.
Switch Input Device

If you prefer another microphone or no mic:

In the Microphone settings, change the Input Device to another mic or select None (if no external mic is connected).
