How to paint Tome Keepers for Warhammer 40k, plus some of their lore!

Seems only right to feature the Tome Keepers as we continue deeper in to the Space Marine Chronicles-they're probably the ones writing it! This successor chapter of the Ultramarines was featured in White Dwarf many years ago, and has always stuck in my head! Hope you like this easy and quick tutorial for them, as well as learning a little bit about their back story as well!

Basing scheme:
AK Terrain Texture paste in Firelands-perfect dupe for Martian Ironcrust but a lot cheaper!
Allow each stage to fully dry in between!
Gryph-Hound Orange (contrast)
Ryza Rust (dry)
Screaming Skull (layer) Light drybrush over the top!
Here's how and why I prime the way I do!
Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of black, and a lighter coat of grey seer sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey seer adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well.
