Form of the Song

"The End" is the final track on the
Abbey Road record, the 1969 release from Britain's top rock band, The Beatles. The song is the third of a three-part medley of short tunes strung together to close out the record. The medley begins with "Golden Slumber" and "Carry That Weight."
The record gets its name from the studio that the Beatles used to record in. Abbey Road Studios is now a rock history monument, which houses big name acts in celebration of the Beatles.

"The End" may only be a two-minute track, but it has a few different parts to it. The song opens with a descending guitar riff and then moves into a distorted guitar verse using a couple simple chords. Then, Ringo Starr runs a drum solo, running into an extended guitar section that repeats several times.

The song comes back together with a quick piano insert from Paul McCartney, very Queen-like, where the core lyrics "In the end..." enter. The song closes out with a beautifully short guitar piece to end the song and record.

The Beatles song "The End" uses the following song form:

* Intro

* Verse
* Drum solo
* Bridge/guitar solo
* Chorus ("And in the end...")
* Outro
