Pressing the Side button on your iPhone is a natural reaction. However, if you do it while your on a phone call you'll hang up on whoever you were speaking to. Whether you have a bad habit of pressing the Side button and hanging up on people, or you keep pressing the Side button accidentally and bringing calls to a close, Apple makes it easy to change your settings so the Side button will no longer end calls on your iPhone.

Now let's walk through the steps to prevent the side button from ending a call on your Apple iPhone.

Step 1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. You'll land on the Settings screen.

Step 2. Scroll down this menu, and then tap "Accessibility." The Accessibility screen is shown.

Step 3. Navigate to the Physical and Motor section, and then tap "Touch" in this section. The Touch screen is displayed.

Step 4. Scroll down until you see the option for Prevent Lock to End Call, and then tap the toggle next to that option to turn it on. Going forward pressing the Side button when you're in a phone call on your iPhone will no longer end that call.
