With the rollout of iOS 16 for iPhone and iPadOS 16 for iPad, Apple is finally making it possible for your device to vibrate slightly every time you tap a key on the keyboard. This vibrating response is activated when you turn on haptic feedback for your iPhone or iPad keyboard. Thankfully, while haptic feedback for your device's keyboard is turned off by default, it can be turned on easily. The only caveat is that you have to be using at least either iOS 16 on your iPhone, or iPadOS 16 on your iPad.
Now let's walk through the steps to turn on haptic feedback on your Apple iPhone or iPad.
Step 1. Tap to open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. You'll land on your device's settings screen.
Step 2. Scroll down this screen, and then tap "Sounds and Haptics" in this menu. You'll land on the Sounds and Haptics screen.
Step 3. Scroll down to the Sounds and Haptic Patterns section, and then tap "Keyboard Feedback." The Keyboard Feedback screen is displayed.
Step 4. Tap to turn on "Haptic." Going forward whenever you tap the keys on your iPhone or iPad keyboard, you'll feel your device shake slightly.
