Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to factory reset your Fitbit Charge HR.
It's not uncommon for Fitbit devices handed down from family or friends, or purchased used, to have someone else's information on them and be set up to work with someone else's account. If this is the case with your Fitbit Charge HR, you can restore the device to its default factory settings to start with a clean slate. Performing a factory reset on your Fitbit Charge HR only takes a few minutes. After you're done, you'll need to walk through the process to set up your device.
And now, the steps to restore your Fitbit Charge HR to its factory settings.
Step 1. Locate the USB charger that came with your Fitbit Charge HR. Connect the smaller, non-USB end of the charging cable to the corresponding input in the back, middle part of the Fitbit Charge HR. Push the connector into the device firmly to ensure it's connected. Connect the USB end of the cable into an available high-power USB port. Ideally, this will be a USB port on your computer or an adapter that connects to AC power.
Step 2. Hold down the button on the left side of the Fitbit Charge HR for two seconds while the device is connected to a USB power source. After two seconds, disconnect the Charge HR from the USB cable while continuing to hold the button down for roughly nine more seconds.
Step 3. Remove your finger from the button for one second, and then hold the button down again. The word "ALT" will appear on your screen. Remove your finger from the Fitbit Charge HR after the word ALT appears, and then hold the button down again.
Step 4. The word "VIBE" appears on your Charge HR screen and the device starts to vibrate. Remove your finger from your device's button after you feel it vibrate, and then hold the button down again. The word "ERROR" appears on the screen.
Step 5. Remove your finger from the button when you see the word ERROR on your screen. The word "ERASE" appears on your Fitbit's screen. Remove your finger from the button on your Charge HR. The word "OFF" will briefly appear before the device turns off. The next time you turn your Fitbit Charge HR back on it will display a time of 0:00, which verifies that the device was successfully reset to its default factory settings.
Congratulations! You've restored your Fitbit Charge HR to its default factory settings.
