Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to change the credit card associated with your Apple ID.
Having a functional credit card tied to your Apple ID is critical if you plan on making any purchases through Apple services. The most immediate impact will likely be felt if you try to buy an app from the App Store, or make a purchase on iTunes. Changing the credit card associated with your Apple ID is a relatively quick and painless process, and can be done on your Apple smart device.
And now, let's walk through the steps to change the credit card associated with your Apple ID.
Step 1. Tap the "Settings" app on the screen of your Apple iPhone, iPad, or other smart device. The Settings screen displays.
Step 2. Scroll down, and then tap "iTunes & App Store." The iTunes & App Store screen appears. Your Apple ID appears at the top of this screen in the form of a blue link.
Step 3. Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen. An Apple ID dialog box appears. Tap "View Apple ID" in the dialog box. An Account Settings window appears.
Step 4. Tap "Payment Information." A Payment Method window appears, displaying your current selected option, and the information associated with it. Given that this video is about how to change the credit card information associated with your Apple ID, I'm assuming that most of you will see Credit/Debit Card selected as the current method of payment, and then the information associated with your card.
Step 5. Tap the number that currently appears in the Number field. The field will become editable. Erase the current number, and then enter the number associated with the credit card you want to change to. After updating the Number field, move down to update the information in the Expires and CVV fields. Tap the blue "Done" button when you're finished updating information. Your changes will be saved, and you'll be returned to the Account Settings screen. Additionally, you'll receive an email from Apple at the email address associated with your Apple ID informing you that the payment method associated with your Apple ID has been updated.
Congratulations! You've successfully changed the credit card associated with your Apple ID.
