How To Reset Microsoft Excel To Default Settings [Tutorial]

In the past, resetting an app to its default settings often meant having to delete and re-install the entire application. With Excel 2021, you can reset the app by restoring Microsoft Office, a process that takes less than two minutes. If you just want to reset the formatting on a worksheet, or remove add-ins you've applied to Excel worksheets in the past, these are tasks you can perform quickly as well.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:
reset excel
reset excel cell to default

Microsoft Excel provides a way for you to personalize the spreadsheets your business uses to your liking and save those customizations as the standard default settings. At some point, if you want to revert back to the factory default settings of the spreadsheet program -- to pass your computer on to another worker, for example -- Excel enables you to do that as well through a couple options.

This tutorial will apply for Microsoft Excel 2021, 2019, 2013, and 2010 for both Windows (such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Toshiba, Acer, Asus) and macOS (MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Mini) devices.
