How to Restring and Tune an Evertune Bridge Guitar | Solar A1.6
22Here’s how to restring and tune a guitar with an Evertune bridge. In this video I’ll be doing the string change on a Solar A1.6 guitar, but this process works for every guitar that has an Evertune installed. The main steps are to reduce the tension on the strings by loosening the headstock tuner. Loosen the strings until they can be removed safely. You can optionally cut the string in the middle to make it easer to pull through the Evertune.
Push the string through the back of the Evertune and dispose of the old strings. This is a great time to oil the fretboard to ensure it won’t crack. Next install the new strings by feeding them through the corresponding hole in the Evertune on the back of the guitar, through the correct slot in the nut, and into the correct tuning post.
Increase the string tension by tightening the tuner on the headstock. Once the string stops increasing in pitch dramatically, you’re done. Note that in this equilibrium zone you will notice a miniscule increase in pitch as you still tighten the tuner. To get into the bend zone, keep tightening until there is a sudden drastic increase in pitch and then back off until you’re back on the edge of the equilibrium zone. Because staying in this zone is tension-based, you will need to occasionally “re-tune” to get back into the bending zone.
To tune the pitch of the guitar, use the Evertune alan key on the hole in the saddle. Tighten to increase the pitch and loosen to reduce the pitch.
