Transcript:

First, we need to set up Bayonetta Tools in Ubuntu by running this set of commands:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt install ruby ruby-dev git build-essential zlib1g-dev libassimp-dev imagemagick
gem update --user-install
gem install --user-install nokogiri libbin assimp-ffi
git clone https://github.com/Kerilk/bayonetta_tools.git
cd bayonetta_tools

We need to extract Bayonetta 2 files first. Watch this guide to learn how:

https://youtu.be/_i8VwHQ6I5w

Once we have the things we need, we can now extract Bayonetta 2 .DAT files.

Here's where the modding starts.

1.) My working folder is in 'C:\Bayo\'. Here's how I go to that folder in Ubuntu.

cd /mnt/c/Bayo/

2.) The file name for the default costume is 'pl0000.dat'. Put that file on your working folder and run this command to extract the files:

ruby dat_extractor.rb pl0000.dat

It will create a folder on your working folder named 'pl0000_dat'.

3.) Move the files 'pl0000.wta' and 'pl0000.wtp' outside that folder.

4.) Run this command to extract the textures:

ruby wtb_wta_extractor.rb pl0000.wta

It will create a folder on your working folder named 'pl0000_wta'.

5.) Move all the files inside that folder to your working folder.

6.) Extract 'TexConV2' to your working folder.

7.) Open Command Prompt by typing 'cmd' on the Start menu and hit 'Enter'.

8.) Go to your working folder in Command Prompt by running this command:

cd "C:/Bayo/"

9.) Create a list of commands to convert the textures, preferably with Notepad++:

10.) The .GTX files are now converted to .DDS file format.

11.) Edit the textures as you see fit. Save the textures in .DDS format, DXT5 if there's transparency, DXT1 if there's none.

12.) Convert the files back to the .GTX file format. Create a list of commands again to convert the textures.

13.) Move the .GTX files back to the 'pl0000_wta' folder.

14.) Run this command to repack the textures:

ruby wtb_wta_creator.rb pl0000_wta

This will create a folder named 'wtx_output'. Inside that folder are the newly-created files.

15.) Move the files back to the 'pl0000_dat' folder. Run this command to repack the .DAT:

ruby dat_creator.rb pl0000_dat

This will create a folder named "dat_output". Inside that folder is the newly-created .DAT file.

16.) Patch the .CPK. Here's a separate guide on how to do that: https://gamebanana.com/tuts/13398
