πŸ”‘ Want to make sure your Windows 11 PC is safe from viruses and malware? Running a virus scan is an essential step for keeping your system secure. Follow these steps to scan your system for threats.

Steps to Scan for Viruses on Windows 11:
Open Windows Security

Press the Windows key and type Windows Security into the search bar.
Select Windows Security from the search results.
Navigate to Virus & Threat Protection

In the Windows Security app, click on Virus & Threat Protection from the menu on the left.
Quick Scan

To start a quick scan, click on Quick Scan. This will scan your most important files and areas of your system for potential threats.
Full Scan (Optional)

For a more thorough scan, scroll down and select Scan Options.
Choose Full Scan to check every file and program on your PC. This might take longer, but it provides a more comprehensive check.
Custom Scan (Optional)

If you want to scan specific files or folders, choose Custom Scan. Select the files or folders you want to scan, and the system will check them for malware.
Check the Results

Once the scan is complete, Windows Security will show the results.
If any threats are detected, follow the on-screen instructions to remove or quarantine the malware.
Update Windows Defender Definitions (Optional)

To ensure your virus definitions are up-to-date, click on Check for Updates under the Virus & Threat Protection settings. This will make sure your system is protected against the latest threats.
πŸ’‘ Tip: If you have another antivirus program installed, make sure it’s up to date and run a scan with that program as well.
