How to Select Different Character in GTA 5 Online or Story Mode (Fast Tutorial)
2To switch between characters in GTA 5, you need to have all characters unlocked. During the game’s Story Mode, you can switch between the three main characters by pressing and holding the Down arrow on game consoles or the Alt key on PC. Then, select your character from the wheel and release the Down button or Alt key.
The three main characters are not all available at every part of the game and some missions are limited to certain characters. You can also use the Player Switcher menu to switch to Grand Theft Auto Online. Additionally, you can free-play as a variety of non-playable characters from the game using Director Mode.
Here are the steps to switch characters in GTA 5 Story Mode:
Unlock all three characters by playing through Story Mode.
Press and hold the Down arrow on game consoles or the Alt key on PC to open the character switcher.
Highlight the character you want to switch to.
Select the character you want to play as by pressing X on PlayStation, A on Xbox, or left-click on PC
