Steps:

- 2 Factor authentication keeps your Instagram account safe from hackers even if they have your password. When your account gets logged in from a new device, it will have to be confirmed with the 2FA code.

- To set it up, Launch Instagram, tap your profile icon from the bottom right menu.

- Tap the ‘3 lines’ icon from the top right of your profile page and then select ‘settings’.

- In settings, select ‘security’.

- In the security settings, tap ‘two factor authentication’.

- Tap get started.

- Select whether you want to use an authentication app or text messages for 2 factor authentication. I'm using an authenticator app.

- Tap next to add your instagram account to the 2FA app, once its added, copy the code and paste it back into instagram to confirm its working.

- 2 factor authentication is now turned on. It will ask you for a code in addition to your password when you log in on a device that isn't recognised.
