This is important, because Apple recently changed the default sort order in the Photos app to be the date a photo was captured. Thankfully, if you want to change to go back to the old default sort order of when a photo was added to the Photos app, you can easily do that.

Step 1. Open the Photos app on your Apple iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Tap the "Sort" button at the bottom of this screen. The Sort button has both up- and down-pointing arrows. A menu opens.

Step 3. Tap to place a check mark next to "Sort by Recently Added." Your photos will automatically be sorted in the order they were most recently added to the Photos app.
