Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: It keeps saying "Java is not recognized as an internal or external source". What do I do? This article will help you fix that issue.
A: Follow it step-by-step:

Q: I did everything correctly, but no one can join my server! What should I do?
A: Make sure that you're port forward has your IPv4 as your internal IP, and that you have both UDP and TCP being forward. Most routers have the TCP/UDP option that will work, but some do require you to add them separately. Also, make sure the port that is forwarded is "25565". There may also be a problem with your router/computers firewall that is not letting your friends connect to you. You can disable these firewalls at your own risk. KEEP IN MIND THIS DOES LOWER YOUR SECURITY. Every router is different, so I would suggest Googling "How To Disable Firewall on (YOUR ROUTER NAME/MODEL HERE). That should point you in the right direction.
Q: When I type "ipconfig" in the CMD it says, "ipconfig is not recognized as in internal or external command operable program or batch file", what do I do?
A: Hit the "Windows Button" on your keyboard. It will open up the start menu. Search for "CMD" on the start menu. Right click on the "CMD" program and click "Run As Administrator". Now, the "ipconfig" command will work!
Q: After typing my default gateway into my browser, I don't get a login box/window. How do I fix it?
A: Contact your ISP (internet service provider), and tell them you are trying to login to your router and the default gateway didn't pull up a login page. They should be able to help you.

I also show you that you can start a Minecraft 1.8 server absolutely free without any prior knowledge on how to start a Minecraft server in 1.8.
This video will also allow you to play Minecraft 1.8 on your own server with your friends for free using your own internet connection. That being said, this is not a Minecraft 1.8 public server. This server is just for your friends and family, and you should not give people the public IP for this Minecraft 1.8 server as it uses your own personal IP. If you want a public server for Minecraft 1.8, I would check out Apex Minecraft Hosting. They have awesome servers that will allow anyone everyone to join!
