The most common problems that I see with players that are stuck in rook or king is that when they see a strong unit in shop, they get horse vision and try to force that comp. In other words, if they get a dwarf sniper round 4, they think it's a hunter game when you might pass on other strong units that the game is giving you. If you end up low rolling, you'll potentially lose the game. In this game, we got a lot of warriors early game but we didn't get any after a few rounds but I saw that no one was going mages so decided to transition into that and ended up winning. Hopefully, this video will help you to understand how transitioning works.
