How To Trim & Cut Video In CapCut - Easy Solution | HTG
Trimming and cutting videos in CapCut is a straightforward process that allows you to clean up your footage, remove unwanted parts, and focus on the best content for your final edit. Whether you're creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or just personal projects, CapCut makes it easy for beginners and pros alike.
To begin, open the CapCut app on your mobile device. If it’s your first time using it, you may be asked to grant permissions and agree to terms—simply accept them to proceed. Next, tap on "New Project" to import the video you want to edit. You’ll need to allow the app access to your media files in order to select your desired clip from your gallery.
Once your video is loaded into the timeline, you'll see two drag handles—one on the left and one on the right side of the video clip. These are used for trimming. To trim the beginning or end of the clip, just tap and hold the appropriate handle and drag it inward to the point where you want the clip to start or end. The app will automatically adjust the video accordingly.
For cutting out a specific portion from the middle of the video, move the white timeline marker to the start of the section you want to remove. Tap on the "Split" button to divide the clip. Then, move the marker to the end of the unwanted section and tap "Split" again. Now, select the middle portion you just created and tap "Delete." CapCut will automatically stitch the remaining parts together without leaving a gap.
These basic tools allow you to easily trim excess footage and cut out mistakes, making your edits cleaner and more engaging.
