How To Turn Off Screen Timeout On Android - Easy Solution | HTG
Turning off or extending the screen timeout on your Android device can be helpful if you’re reading, watching content, or using apps that require longer screen time without interaction. While not all Android phones allow you to completely disable screen timeout, most offer extended timeout options or features that keep the screen on under certain conditions.
To get started, open the Settings app on your Android device. Then, scroll down and tap on the "Display" section. From there, look for an option labeled "Screen timeout" or "Sleep," depending on your device model. On Samsung devices, for example, you’ll typically find this setting named "Screen timeout."
Once you’re in the screen timeout settings, you'll see a list of time intervals—options may range from 15 seconds up to 10 minutes. If your phone doesn’t offer a "Never" option, the longest available duration (such as 10 minutes) is the best alternative.
Additionally, many Samsung phones include a feature called "Keep screen on while viewing," which uses the front camera to detect when you're looking at the screen. If this setting is enabled, the screen will remain on as long as you’re facing the device, even if the normal timeout duration is reached.
It’s worth noting that some phone manufacturers or Android versions might include a "Stay Awake" mode under Developer Options, which keeps the screen on while charging. You can enable Developer Options by going to Settings About Phone tap "Build Number" seven times, then access the Developer menu to find this setting.
