By default, when someone you don't know on Discord sends you a message, that message won't go into your direct messages, but rather will go into the message requests section. As a result of this, you may miss some messages you actually wanted to get. Thankfully, if you have a Discord server where you know you'll want to receive messages from everyone, you can easily turn off message requests for that server. The result of this will be that all of your messages from people in that server will go directly into your DMs.
So, if you’re ready to take control of your Discord messages, let's dive right into it.
Step 1. Open the Discord app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device, and then tap to open the server you want to turn off message requests in.
Step 2. Tap the name of that Discord server at the top of the screen. A menu screen with options for that specific Discord server opens.
Step 3. Tap to toggle off "Allow Message Requests." Going forward, all messages you receive from users on this server will go directly into your Discord direct messages, including messages from people you may not know.
