Converting your iPhone or iPad photos to black and white can give them a timeless, classic look, highlight contrasts, and add a dramatic effect to your images. Whether you're aiming for an artistic touch, enhancing the mood of a portrait, or simply experimenting with your photography, knowing how to do this right from your device can take your photos to the next level. And it's important to know that this change will be applied to your original photo. As a result, I'd advise creating a copy of your original photo prior to applying this change so you'll have it as a backup.
So, if you're ready to unleash your creativity and give your photos a new dimension, let's dive right into it.
Step 1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad, and then navigate to the photo that you want to make black and white.
Step 2. Tap the "Edit" icon at the bottom of this screen. Editing options are displayed.
Step 3. Tap "Filters" in the menu at the bottom of this screen. Filtering options for your photo will be shown.
Step 4. Swipe down to the end of this menu until you get to the final three options, which are Mono, Silvertone, and Noir. Applying any of these filters to your photo will give it a black and white appearance.
Step 5. Tap "Done" after choosing the black and white filter you want to apply to your photo. Your black and white photo will be saved to your device's camera roll.
