How to Turn OFF Power Button Gemini AI on your Android Phone & Switch to Power Options
4The process for switching the power button function from Gemini AI (or Google Assistant) back to the Power Options menu is the same across most modern Android phones (Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, Motorola, etc.).
The key is finding the Gestures or Side button settings in your phone's menu.
Best Method: Change the Power Button Gesture
The most consistent method is found within your phone's System/Gesture settings:
Open your phone's Settings app (⚙ ).
Scroll down and tap on System (on some phones like Samsung, this may be Advanced features).
Look for and tap on Gestures (on Samsung, look for Side key or Side button).
Find the setting titled Press and hold power button (or Long press).
You will see that the current selection is likely Digital assistant or Gemini.
Select the following option to revert the function:
Power menu (or Power off menu)
After making this change, pressing and holding your power button will now bring up the standard screen with Power off, Restart, and Emergency options.
