To turn off text messages and invites from random players on Xbox Series X, you can follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Go to Profile & system - Settings - General - Online safety & family.
Select Privacy & online safety - Xbox privacy - View details & customize - Communication & multiplayer.

Choose the desired setting under Others can communicate with you.
If you want to block messages from people not on your friends list, you can change your privacy settings on Xbox.com. Under the privacy settings, you have the option to make it to where only friends can send you messages.
