Are you looking for a way to stay focused on the road and reduce distractions from your phone? Apple's got you covered with the 'Do Not Disturb While Driving' feature on your iPhone. This smart feature automatically silences notifications, calls, and messages, helping you keep your eyes on the road and not on your phone. In this video I'll show you how to turn on 'Do Not Disturb While Driving' on your iPhone, a step that could not only improve your driving experience but also enhance your safety and that of others.
Now let's walk through the steps to turn on the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature on your iPhone.
Step 1. Tap to open the Settings app. Scroll down this menu, and then tap "Focus." You'll land on the Focus screen.
Step 2. Tap "Driving." The Driving Focus screen is displayed.
Step 3. Find the Allow Notifications section, and then tap "People." The Notifications screen is shown, where you can choose whether you want to silence notifications from specific people or allow notifications from specific people. If you choose to allow notifications from specific people you can tap "Allow Calls From" and choose whether you want to allow calls from everyone, allowed people only, your favorites, or contacts only.
Step 4. After navigating back to the main Driving Focus screen tap "Auto Reply." On this screen you can choose who you want to send auto reply messages to, and then enter what you want the auto reply message to be.
Step 5. Navigate back to the Driving Focus screen again and then scroll down this menu and then tap "While Driving." The While Driving screen is shown where you'll see different options for activating the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature.
Step 6. You can choose to activate the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature on your iPhone either automatically when you're detected to be in motion, when you're connected to your car's Bluetooth, or manually. Alternatively, you can also choose to automatically turn on the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature when you're connected to CarPlay.
If you choose to activate the feature manually, whenever you want to enable Do Not Disturb While Driving on your iPhone you'll need to swipe down from the top-right corner of your device, tap "Focus" to bring up a menu, and then tap "Driving." The feature will be enabled until you tap this icon again to turn it off.
