In this 40 minute mini-masterclass, I'm going to walk you guys through the entire step-by-step process of turning yourself into a robot using Cinema 4D, Octane, After Effects and Photoshop.

In this tutorial we'll start by shooting our footage to make it easy on us in post. We'll capture a custom HDRI on set in order to accurately light our #3D model. You'll learn how to #motiontrack your footage in After Effects, and normalize for use in Cinema4D. We'll then match our 3D lighting to our footage, download a robot from cgtrader.com and go to TOWN on the textures.

I'll walk you through my detailed surface imperfection workflow in order ot achieve photoreal shaders (one of the secrets to photoreal renders.) From there we'll record custom #motioncapture data with a Rokoko smartsuit, optimize our robot for animation, then pair the two together. Lastly we'll wrap up this super-tutorial with render settings you don't want to forget, and a detailed breakdown of my compositing workflow in After Effects.
