Today I am going to show you how to upgrade windows 8 to windows 10 for free. This method is working as of June 2017. The upgrade will keep all your applications and data you have on your windows 8 machine. I recommend you backup all of your important files before attempting this upgrade just incase the worse happens.

PRE CHECKS : Before you try to upgrade windows 8 to windows 10 for free make sure your microsoft windows is activated also make sure your C: drive has at least 10gb free disk space.

Now the first thing we need to do is download the windows 10 update assistant for Creators Update tool, The direct link for the tool is https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=846364 The windows 10 creators update page is located at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/features

Please note microsoft keep on changing the link to the update so if the link is broken please let me know and I will update to the new location.

After downloading the Creators Update tool double click on the tool and click on accept. The tool will then check if your windows 8 system meets the requirements, press next. The tool will then start to download the windows 10 install files which is around 2.6gb in size, so depending on your internet connection this could take some time.

After the windows 10 install files have downloaded click next to start the install. When the install has finished click restart to restart your machine. The install will then continue, When it finishes it will ask you a few questions about settings for the windows 10 system. After the questions you will be presented with the windows 10 log on screen. You can log on with the same password you used for the windows 8 install.
